The first kitchen pencil was designed and made by Sebastian Bergne for the Lapis - Drawing Experience exhibition in Lisbon. More than 30 designers were asked to rethink the wooden pencil. The results form a collection, travelling exhibition and catalogue.

It somehow has the feeling that perhaps all wooden spoons have a hidden lead running through them just waiting to be revealed by sharpening the end with a kitchen knife.
